Summer School Fun
Creativity abounds at summer school. Murray students are learning about plant life, foods around the world, science and art. Part of the day is spent in the classroom reading and researching and the other part is spent gardening, creating art projects, cooking foods from around the world and exploring ecosystems. Summer School Administrator Karen Aristizabal says the hands-on activities connect students to what is being learned in the classroom with how this information is used in the world around us. The program is a joint project of the District and THINK Together.
Murray students raised $3715 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at its Pasta for Pennies event. For this outstanding achievement, our school was given the Rookie of the Year Award for its fundraising success during the school's first year of participation in the event.
